Kit Heath Coast Pebble sterling silver collection

Kit Heath Coast Pebble Collection Guide

North Devon Shoreline | Solid Sterling Silver | Tactile Design

By OD's Jewellers | Updated April 2026 | 5 min read

This is a supporting guide to our main Kit Heath Brand Guide. It focuses on the Coast Pebble collection — the design family inspired by the North Devon shoreline that translates water-worn stone forms into sterling silver jewellery.

Coast Pebble is Kit Heath's signature nature-inspired collection — necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and bangles built around smooth, organic forms that reference sea-worn stones found along the North Devon coast.

1 | Design Language

Coast Pebble pieces are defined by three consistent design principles: organic asymmetry, surface smoothness, and deliberate weight. The forms reference stones shaped by water over time — no sharp edges, no geometric repetition, no uniform symmetry.

Organic Asymmetry

Each pebble element is sculpted with gentle curves and rounded profiles that catch light across a continuous surface rather than at faceted angles.

Deliberate Weight

The tactile quality of a cool, substantial silver pebble is part of the design experience. Weight signals material quality and distinguishes solid silver from hollow alternatives.

2 | Construction Methods

Solid Cast Sterling Silver

Core pebble elements cast in solid 925 sterling silver, producing the weight and surface density characteristic of the collection. Rhodium-plated for tarnish resistance.

Stone-Set and Pearl Pieces

Selected designs integrate freshwater pearls or cubic zirconia pavé. Organic texture (pearls) or concentrated sparkle (CZ) within clean metallic palette.

Golden Station

18ct gold-plated pebble as a focal "station" element within silver chain. A deliberate contrast point — not a full gold-plated piece.

Weight Range

From 4.53g (delicate lariat) to 35g (Linking Pebbles necklace). Reflects the difference between chain-based and fully solid link construction.

The Range

Format Weight Chain Length
Linking Pebbles Bracelet 13.00 g 7.5 inches
Linking Pebbles Necklace 35.00 g 18 inches (adj. 16–18")
Golden Station Necklace 8.60 g 20 inches (adj. to 18")
Glisten Pavé & Pearl Lariat 4.53 g 17 inches (adj. to 16")

3 | Sizing & Fit

Most Coast Pebble necklaces include a 1–2 inch adjustment range. Weight affects how a necklace sits — the 35g Linking Pebbles sits firmly at the collarbone; the 4.53g lariat drapes freely.

For bangles, Kit Heath uses S/M and M/L sizing. Closed bangles are measured around the knuckles at the widest point of the hand.

5 | Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Coast Pebble piece so heavy?

The pebble elements are cast in solid sterling silver, not hollow-formed. Weight is an intentional design characteristic providing the tactile quality and material presence that define the range.

Are the pearls in Coast Pebble real?

Yes. Coast Pebble uses cultured freshwater pearls formed in freshwater mussels. Natural variation in shape and surface texture between individual pearls is expected.

What is the gold detail on the Golden Station pieces?

A single pebble element is plated in 18ct gold over the sterling silver base, creating a bi-metal contrast point within the otherwise silver design.

Will the rhodium finish wear off?

Rhodium plating is durable under normal wear. Over extended periods, high-friction areas may show gradual thinning. Re-plating by a jeweller is possible if needed.
