What Makes Coeur de Lion Different
Stuttgart Handcraft
Every piece hand-finished in Stuttgart by a team of around 150 staff. Short supply chains and in-house production ensure consistent quality across the entire collection.
GeoCUBE® Icon
Introduced in 1999, the GeoCUBE® is a Bauhaus-inspired design classic. Precision-cut cubes in sophisticated colour combinations, reinterpreted every season.
316L Surgical Steel
Hypoallergenic, corrosion-resistant and long-lasting. The same grade used in surgical instruments and medical implants. REACH compliant.
Natural Gemstones
Amethyst, aventurine, rose quartz, lapis lazuli, onyx, sodalite and more — each carrying its own symbolic meaning and contributing to the rich colour language.
2 | The Coeur de Lion Story: Stuttgart Innovation Since 1987
Coeur de Lion began in 1987 in Stuttgart when Carola and Nils Eckrodt started handcrafting jewellery from unconventional industrial materials — gearbox components, rubber, and alloy steel. Their bold designs debuted at the Avantgarde exhibition in Munich. The Düsseldorf couturier Hanns Friedrichs bought the entire first collection, immediately validating the brand's distinctive vision.
The turning point came in 1999 with the launch of the GeoCUBE® necklace: a Bauhaus-inspired composition of precision-cut cubes. It quickly became a design icon, stocked by museum shops and premium retailers worldwide.
3 | Craftsmanship & Materials
Key Materials
316L Stainless Steel
Surgical-grade, hypoallergenic base metal. Available in silver, rose gold PVD and yellow gold PVD finishes. Corrosion-resistant and mechanically stable.
Natural Gemstones
Amethyst, amazonite, aventurine, rose quartz, chalcedony, agate, haematite, carnelian, lapis lazuli, turquoise, onyx, sodalite and more.
Swarovski® Crystals
Lead-free Advanced Crystal standard. Known for brilliance, cut precision and colour depth. Featured across GeoCUBE® and seasonal designs.
Anodised Aluminium
Diamond-sanded and UV-stable, providing vibrant, durable colour. The colour is built into the metal surface itself, not painted on.
Additional materials include freshwater pearls, Polaris resin, cut glass, and nylon-coated steel wire for strength and flexibility. Each piece features a stainless-steel quality seal and Certificate of Authenticity.
100% Stuttgart Production
All design, assembly and quality control takes place in Stuttgart, Germany. This centralised model ensures maximum control over quality and authenticity across the entire collection.
4 | Coeur de Lion in Culture & Design
Coeur de Lion stands at the intersection of mathematical precision and human emotion. Clean lines, perfect cubes and strict symmetry are balanced with bold colour gradients, natural stones and tactile finishes.

7 | Care & Warranty
Coeur de Lion-Specific Care
Stainless Steel & PVD
316L steel resists tarnish. PVD gold finishes are harder and more abrasion-resistant than standard electroplating. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives.
Gemstones & Crystals
Natural stones show genuine colour variation. Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products. Store pieces separately to prevent scratching.
Nylon-Coated Wire
Store necklaces and bracelets flat in their original case — never hanging or coiled. Kinking is the most common repair reason and is preventable with proper storage.
Daily Wear
Remove before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Avoid chlorinated and salt water. Store in original box or soft pouch.
2-Year Manufacturer Guarantee
- Covers: Defects in materials and workmanship
- Excludes: General wear and tear, accidental damage, improper care
- Proof of purchase from an authorised retailer required for all claims
- Lifetime repair service: Flat rate repairs available after warranty period (typically around €15–€19 plus shipping)
